About SurfESA
Our Mission
The SurfESA Northern South Carolina Chapter is committed to promoting and fostering the growth of surfing across the East Coast. As part of the Eastern Surfing Association (ESA), our chapter serves as a gateway for surfers of all levels to connect, compete, and develop their skills.
Our mission is to build a thriving local surfing community by organizing competitions, offering mentorship, and creating opportunities for surfers to engage with one another.

History of the Chapter
The Northern South Carolina Chapter was established in [year] as a regional hub for surfers in the Carolinas to join the larger ESA family. Since its inception, our chapter has become one of the most active branches of the ESA, consistently drawing talented surfers, from beginners to seasoned professionals, to our local events and competitions. We have proudly contributed to the development of surfing talent in the region, providing a platform for surfers to showcase their skills and advance to national levels of competition.
Over the years, we’ve grown to become a cornerstone of the surf scene in North and South Carolina, with an emphasis on fostering camaraderie, sportsmanship, and ocean stewardship. Our members are deeply connected to the local surf culture, sharing a passion for the ocean and a desire to make a positive impact in the community.
Our Role in the Community
At the core of the SurfESA Northern South Carolina Chapter is our dedication to promoting surfing as a lifestyle and competitive sport. We organize local contests, beach cleanups, and community events, all aimed at bringing surfers together and giving back to our coastal environment.
Our competitions provide surfers of all ages and abilities the chance to compete in a fun, supportive environment, whether they are riding their first wave or aiming to qualify for regional and national competitions. We also offer mentorship and training opportunities, helping younger surfers hone their skills and build confidence in the water.
We work hand in hand with local schools, surf shops, and environmental groups to educate the public about ocean conservation and the importance of preserving our coastlines for future generations of surfers.
